Rehabilitation of Qokhar School in Manbij

Contract Signing

• On January 27, 2024, our company, Hamza Abbas, signed a contract with a humanitarian organization to renovate and maintain Ghuqar School located in the outskirts of Manbij city.

Assessment and Planning

• One of our company’s engineers visited the school site along with a specialized committee from the organization to assess the current condition of the school, identify the necessary rehabilitation and preparation works, determine the budget required to complete these works, and establish the timeframe needed to finish the renovation and maintenance tasks.

• It was agreed upon that a total of 45 days would be allocated to complete the works in full.

Main School Building Maintenance

• The main school building was in good condition and required minor maintenance for the classroom doors and the external door, such as painting and lock replacements, among other things.

Secondary Annex Building Restoration

• However, the secondary annex building of the school needed building restoration and addressing water leakage issues.

• The classroom walls and corridors needed painting, and the doors and windows required maintenance and replacement of any damaged parts.

• Additionally, the installation of boards in the classrooms was required.

• Electrical, water, and sanitation services needed to be provided to the secondary school building.

Restroom Facilities Rehabilitation

• Regarding the restroom facilities, the works included painting, ceramic restoration, roof insulation to prevent leakage, maintenance of doors and windows, sewer cleaning, and providing electrical and water services.

• A special needs bathroom was also constructed.

Additional Works for Students‘ Activities

• After completing the essential works, we proceeded to carry out additional works to encourage students in their activities.

• This included the preparation of a football field, a basketball court, and the execution of wall paintings to showcase the school in ist best light.

Completion of Works

• Thanks to the diligent work of our skilled workers and the cooperation between our supervisory committee and the organization’s supervisory committee, the works were completed.
